Diving where you don't have to wear a 5/7 wetsuit FTW!

For those of you who don't know what 5/7 wetsuit means, the 5/7 refers to millimeters. The wet suit has two pieces: a suspenders like piece, and a long sleeve shirt and booty shorts piece. The arms and legs are both 5 mm thick, and the body coverings are 7mm thick. This may not sound like a lot, but trust me, once you finally wriggle into your wetsuit, you feel like Gumby. Your arms want to spring out to the sides, and they don't want to bend. Then you put the rest of your gear together. But once you get in the water, you're very thankful for this piece of neoprene ridiculousness. I will not be needing one of these over spring break. See, we don't look awkward or dorky at all...

I thought that since I had a long dormant account on this website from when I took AIDS and STIs, it would be fun to use for spring break! I will be going on a cruise in the Western Caribbean (yeah, I know, I'm a jerk) and I am so excited! I finally get to use my SCUBA certification that I got last winter with Kise! Anyway, I won't have a cell phone, and I won't really have internet access except when I can find an open computer terminal on the cruise ship (if only they had WiFi). And I'm sure I won't be bored enough to be there the whole time - that will only be after about 9pm when the rest of my family is already asleep.

So, what's super duper crazy awesome is that I will have access to a digital camera with an underwater casing!!! I don't really know if anyone knows this, but my dream job would definitely be to be an underwater photographer. So I thought it would be a lot of fun to share some of my trip with everyone. I don't really know how good of a camera it is - it's just a simple point and shoot, (sadly) not a fancy shmancy dSLR.

Anyhoo, these are the stops we will be taking, and what we will be doing...

Belize - I think we're going on some jet boat tour thing... I don't really know... I might have this mixed up with Grand Cayman.

Cozumel - Where I get to go on a day trip of diving! We'll only be doing two dives, but it should still be awesome. Especially since the water will be warmer that 50 degrees F and I will have more than 10 feet if vis... It will be sooo much better than Lake Woahink (right Kise?)! And I will try my best to find a crab to take a picture of for you.

Isla Roatan, Honduras - Some dolphin thing (but they don't allow you to bring your own camera!!! So maybe we will buy a few for a ridiculous price...)

Grand Cayman Island - I think this is where we're going snorkeling. Woot!

Well, I think that's about it. Hopefully I don't lose the camera on one of my dives because then you'll hear a news story about a young woman from Oregon murdered in the Caribbean.

Stay tuned for some hopefully awesome photos of Caribbean sea life!!
